Friendship Rocks and KIDS UNPLUGGED! Friendship Rocks are rocks, painted by the girls, that are meant to put a smile
on the faces of random strangers. On the back of their rocks is our Facebook page. We hope that if/when somebody finds the
lucky stones, they will post a picture and the location of the rock. We will be leaving a trail of these as we
journey on!
We incorporated this project into Zoe’s color wheel art lesson this past week to help her understand and identify primary
and secondary colors. She enjoyed mixing the primary colors to create the secondary colors. This simple project allowed
for great conversation and a little “back to the basics” entertainment! One beautiful feature with online school is that
you can adapt the projects in ways that really speak to your child. Zoe, like most children, is a very visual learner.
She has a much better understanding of the color wheel now that she has had hands-on experience. Painting the rocks
also offered a sense of calmness and meditation that all kids benefit from.
